Siyum HaRambam Update, Children’s Program To Launch 44th International Siyum HaRambam
In a last-minute development and with help of several anonymous individuals, the International Siyum HaRambam Committee has managed to secure an additional room at the Bedford Union Armory for a special children’s program at today’s Siyum celebration.
The children’s program, running from 7:20 to 8:20 PM, will include the 12 Pesukim, an exciting juggling and fire show performed by two expert entertainers, a captivating story by a master storyteller, and prizes for the kids.
There will be a program for older children, fourth grade and above, in a room down the hall from the women’s entrance. For younger children, third grade and under, the program will take place upstairs. Signs and bochurim will be present to direct attendees to the appropriate rooms.
The main Siyum program will begin at 7:00 PM and continue until 8:45 PM, with doors opening at 6:30 PM. At 7:15PM there will be a Siyum on Sefer HaMitzvos, followed by the children’s program in the next room.
To ensure that everyone can attend the historic Siyum, as per the request of the Rebbe, the organisers have arranged free transportation for the entire Crown Heights, Remsen Village and East Flatbush. The Rebbe requested that the Siyum Harambam be held ברוב פאר והדר. The Rebbe explained that when the Siyum is held in a grand manner it will encourage more people to join and to participate in the learning of the daily Rambam.
The Rebbe took tremendous nachas and strongly encouraged the siyumim that were held throughout the years in a very grandiose way. The Rebbe once even remarked to Rabbi Shmuel Butman a”h, in connection to the siyum: ניט רעכענען מיט קיין געלט!” Loosely translated: “Do not worry about any money!”
Rabbi Butman relates that he personally witnessed countless individuals who merited to see clear brachos from the Rebbe with children, health, parnosah and all areas of life after committing to support the Siyum.
At this Siyum, whoever contributes $36 dollars or more will go into a raffle to win a dollar from the Rebbe!
