To: Lev Leviev. It must feel great to be able to make such a huge differance.. Maybe you can give such lessons to differant Chabad G’virim on how to give… Giving to make a differance is so alian in Crown Heights it would be like landing martians on Kingston avenue… One G’vir here in CH during Kinnus gave people a slip of paper which they could then go to someplace else and pick up a Hundred Dollars… And that’s better then most. Some G’virim from CH say that "we are commited to the Moisdos in CH" and therefore keep the giving to the Yeshiva’s etc.. in CH.. Which as most people living in CH know is a boatload of cra**** They don’t give to Shluchim and they don’t give where they live…. My Emunah is shaken to the core, why is it that G-D has put his trust in certain people to by giving them money.. Everything we learn tells us that Hashem gives that we can be a conduit to give to others, what gives these people the rite to hold back? The Philanthropist George Rohr was told during a particuliarly bad year that he should cut back on his giving and the Mosad would find an alternate means of getting the money, to which he answered that he would be giving not only what he commited but he would give more to make up the shortfall. Because as he said: Now get this: "To give when things are going good is the easy part it’s when things are tough we have to give even more to show Hashem that we are trully commited" That was not verbatim but you kind of get the idea… What do the G’virim in CH say? Kush in Tuches! To you I say "Hashem Nosasan v’hashem Lokach" give nicely or he will take… The choice is yours..

I think I get what Mr. Hellman is saying. Let me try & paraphrase –
the rich fat cats in CH don’t give. Period. End of sentence.
