Yechidus For Children? Now the Answer is Yes!

A horse-drawn wagon rattles down an unpaved road, carrying joyous Chassidim on their way to the Rebbe’s court in Lubavitch. A Nigun of celebration livens the scene, filling the air with intensity and emotion.

You may recognize this scene of old from Sichos and classic sources, but zoom out of the frame and suddenly–you’re surrounded by video cameras, bright lighting rigs, and a bustling film crew in the middle of a New Jersey park. What is this masterful reenactment being brought to life for?

A Chossid entering Yechidus or carefully writing a Pan to the Rebbe are the bread and butter of Chasidishe Chinuch. But classic concepts like Yechidus, developing a personal Hiskashrus, and how to write to the Rebbe may seem beyond the grasp of young minds. Can young children be introduced to these important ideas on their own level?

For the creators of JEM’s Connection Point program, the answer is a resounding yes.

As part of the new ‘Foundations’ program, engaging films masterfully bring these timeless topics to life, leaving a lasting impression on participating children. Through vivid reenactments of classic scenes performed by children and actors, these films seamlessly connect the past with present-day events, allowing young viewers to experience these foundational concepts on their level.

The Foundations series, dedicated by Mutty and Ahuva Fogelman & Creswell Inc., uses the familiar Connection Point interactive format to bring even the deepest concepts to life for children in grades 3-6. Played by a cast of children and adults, the films, interspersed with clips of the Rebbe, teach a particular topic. Guiding questions and targeted references help the children engage with and understand each subject.

“The Foundations program has elevated students’ connection to the Rebbe to an entirely new level,” shared Mrs. Chanie Wolf, principal at Bnos Menachem. “By focusing on and delving into the different topics, the program brings out complex concepts in a meaningful, visual way. It has allowed our students to explore these ideas with greater clarity and connection than ever before.”

Recent topics include the Rebbe’s niggunim, shlichus, and yechidus, with teachers and parents reporting the results. Children are fostering their own personal Hiskashrus to the Rebbe, making the Rebbe’s teachings and instructions a vivid and tangible part of their daily lives.

The Foundations program is a companion program to Connection Point’s flagship program, which assists children with learning and understanding the Rebbe’s sichos in their original form.

In the coming days, Connection Point is set to launch an immersive Yud Shvat curriculum to be taught in schools across the country. With learning directly from the Rebbe at its core, the curriculum will provide teachers with comprehensive lesson plans, slideshows, exercises and all the tools needed to prepare children for this special day.
