New Seminar By CYP’s Met@Chabad To Help Shluchos Guide Singles Towards Marriage
As young Jewish professionals transition from the structured, supportive environments of their youth into the broader and often challenging world of adulthood, they also face the pivotal life decisions that shape their futures. During this crucial period when they are far from the familial and community support they once knew, Chabad Young Professionals’ Shluchim and Shluchos are vital in providing the necessary guidance and mentorship.
To enhance this support, a new course from CYP International’s Met@Chabad has been developed to assist Shluchos in this essential role. The course aims to tackle the unique challenges Jewish singles face as they navigate today’s complex dating world. By providing tailored insights and tools, the course hopes to support Shluchos in guiding these young adults’ journey toward Jewish marriage and parenthood.
Beginning Monday, January 13, The seminar will feature three sessions, each addressing a key part of this Shlichus. The first segment, led by renowned Shlucha Mrs. Rivkah Slonim of Binghamton University, will emphasize the key significance of Jewish marriage guidance as a Shlichus. She’ll highlight the unique impact a Shlucha can have, and its importance for generations to come.
“The Dirah Batachtonim that we aim to create as Chassidim and Shluchim is dependent on Jewish families. Who else is going to make that happen besides us? What could be more important than setting up a Jewish home?” said Slonim
In the second session, Mrs. Manya Lazaroff, Shlucha at Texas A&M University, will draw on her own experience as a campus Shlucha sharing practical tips on helping students navigate dating challenges and marry Jewish. She will also introduce the tools and resources available through Met@Chabad. Explaining how to leverage these resources to help singles meet and marry.
Devorah Kigel, a renowned dating coach and author of Marry a Mensch, will address the Shluchos in the third installment, providing professional insights rooted in Torah values. Based on her real-life learning experiences in the dating process, Kigel will guide Shluchos on how to guide their congregants, ensuring they can date effectively, with marriage as a goal, and drawing lessons from the beauty of Torah-true relationships, for Chabad-House attendees.
“The Rebbe sent out his Shluchim as married couples serving as the ultimate role models of a Jewish home and the sanctity of marriage,” says Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302 and Chairman of CYP International. “Today more than ever young professionals look to their Shluchim for guidance and we are here to support them in that role.”
