LEC Staff Treated to Evening of Appreciation
Teachers and staff of Lubavitch Educational Center’s schools were treated to a special Chanukah men’s evening of appreciation at the home of LEC parents and supporters Mendy and Chani Fischer. The event was organized by the school’s Simcha Fund, which provides financial gifts to staff members on the occasion of their simchas.
“LEC has incredible staff members across eleven girls and boys divisions,” said Associate Head of School Rabbi Yossi Zavdi, who administers the Simcha Fund. “They are the heart of our school. I see how much they truly care for each child, how they interact with them and inspire them every single day.” Head of School Rabbi Benjy Korf says, “This Simcha Fund is one way we can give back to our staff in their time of joy and show them that their simcha is really our simcha.”
After words of appreciation by parent Rabbi Zalman Margolin, the attendees enjoyed a kumzitz with musical artist Eitan Katz accompanied by pianist Sholom Lieberman, and a lavish buffet by Menachem Kozlovsky of LEC catering. Each participant was given a sefer, a collection of the Rebbe’s letters on chinuch.
The Simcha Fund was established by LEC parents Mendy and Chaya Fellig and Tzvi Meir and Chayale Fellig in 2021. Since then, it has distributed over $300,000 in gifts for hundreds of LEC staff members celebrating a wedding, bar mitzvah, or birth. “I am proud of my children for founding this incredible initiative and supporting the staff of the Rebbe’s school,” said Rabbi Zalman Fellig who attended the event.
LEC thanks the Simcha Fund’s additional core supporters, Overton Funding, Yitzi & Chana Shimshoni, Chaim & Rochel Schochet, Boruch & Chani Negin, Zalmi & Leah Duchman, Yossi & Ayelet Bortunk, Mayer &Sara Wayden, Meir & Frumi Kessler, Mendy & Michal Korf and Alan & Mushki Grand.
“Our teachers show up for our children every day,” says Rabbi Zavdi. “It’s important that we show up for them.”
