Lubavitcher Announced As New Deputy Commissioner of Information Technology

New NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch has announced a round of appointments today which included Lubavitcher, and Crown Heights resident, Yisroel Hecht, as the incoming Deputy Commissioner of Information Technology.

Hecht served in many Information Technology and leadership roles, including New York City Chief Information Security Officer, and the Associate Commissioner of IT Security at the NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunication (DoITT). One of his even earlier positions include Associate Commissioner of Network and Telecom.

Yisroel has been with the City of New York for over ten years, where he was also responsible for the Cyber Security program Citywide and implementing vital security measures to address emerging cyber threats.

Presently, and up until his December 20th appointment, Yisroel continues serve as Deputy Commissioner of Infrastructure Management for the New York City Office of Technology and Innovation.
