New Mesivta in Napierville Celebrates a Successful First Zman

In response to the increasing need for Lubavitcher yeshivos across North America, veteran mechanech Rabbi Yehuda Dahan last year announced the launch of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in Napierville, QC. This new Mesivta opened its doors in the year 5785, and the first month, Elul, has already proved to be a resounding success.

The bochurim returned home spiritually uplifted and refreshed from their Elul experience, which culminated in spending Rosh Hashanah with the Rebbe in Crown Heights. The regular sedarim in the yeshiva, under the careful guidance of the devoted Hanhala, ensured that the students were fully immersed in both Nigleh and Chassidus throughout the day. Alongside shiurim, there was a strong emphasis on tefillos, farbrengens, and personal growth through regular discussions with their mashpiim.

Throughout Elul, the bochurim participated in various farbrengens, each marking significant days on the Chassidishe calendar. The month began with an inspiring farbrengen led by Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Cohen, senior shliach in Montreal and a member of the Yeshiva Vaad. Tes Vov Elul, the day Tomchei Temimim was established, was marked with lively Chodorom dancing together with Montreal’s Yeshiva Gedolah, followed by a farbrengen with Rabbi Sholom Feigelstock. Chai Elul, a pivotal Shabbos, was marked by a heartfelt farbrengen with Rabbi Aba Amzalag, mashpia in the yeshiva.

The bochurim also had the privilege of spending Shabbos Selichos in Montreal together with the Montreal Zal. During this “Shabbos Shekulo Farbrengens,” they were deeply inspired by Rabbi Shmuel Zalmanov, Rabbi Mendel Scheiner, and a powerful Motzei Shabbos farbrengen with Rabbi Sholom Ber Sheingarten, leading into Selichos.

In preparation for the auspicious month of Tishrei, the Shluchim of the yeshiva also initiated a special mivtza, aimed at encouraging their the talmidim to elevate their spiritual preparations for the Yomim Noraim. As part of this mivtza, they organized a trip, which motivated the bochurim to focus on their avodah during these important weeks

In addition to the spiritual nourishment, the bochurim enjoyed a pleasant physical environment. The yeshiva boasts spacious grounds, a gym and swimming pool, catered meals, and comfortable living quarters, creating an atmosphere where students feel uplifted and cared for, both b’ruchnius and b’gashmius.

This incredible experience during the inaugural zman has left the bochurim and Hanhala eager to return after the Yomim Tovim for the next zman in yeshiva
