US House of Rep. D’Esposito Joins the Tefillin Club at Merrick Chabad Center of Life
by CrownHeights.info
Rabbi Shimon Kramer of Chabad Center for Jewish Life in Merrick, welcomed US House of Representative Anthony D’Esposito as he joined The Tefillin Club at Chabad this past Sunday morning.
The Congressman spoke to a standing-room-only crowd and told of the $14 billion in funding he secured for Israel and of his commitment to fighting antisemitism.
Rabbi Kramer and his wife Chanie came to Merrick, LI from Crown Heights in 2006. In 1995, Chanie Kramer (nee Halberstam) graduated from Beth Rivka High School in Brooklyn, NY and assists with running the many activities at the center.
Rabbi Kramer continues to be one of the most popular people in town, being named Merrick’s Person of the Year in 2017, and Jewish life continues to grow exponentially in part because of his and Chanie’s efforts.
Merrick Chabad is known for having it’s doors open to everyone on the High Holidays, not only paying shul members.

Without Rabbi Kramer, many of those in the photo would not be practicing Judaism as they are today. Right after the tefillin club ended, there was an endless line of cars with parents dropping their kids off for Hebrew school.

Is Anthony Esposito Jewish? Or did Chabad make tefilim required for non Jews
Jay Sorid
Congressman Esposito visited the tefillin club members and joined them after Jewish prayers were completed. – My hope is that the Congressman (Federal) can put forth federal legislation which stops masked mobs from harassing Jews on college campuses(Title VI) and obstructing public streets (traffic / interstate commerce).
