Embracing Hope in 5785: Aleph’s High Holiday Campaign
Hope.
It’s the one thing nobody can take away. Yet, it’s the one thing anyone can give.
As we embark on the new Jewish year, the Aleph Institute is turning to you—yes, you—and humbly requesting your partnership. For men, women, and children devastated by the criminal justice system, Aleph is a beacon of hope and light in the darkness. But they urgently need your help to continue providing lifesaving services.
As one young mother whose husband is in prison wrote: “Many people I know have made empty promises, but you are one of the few I can truly count on and trust. Thank you for being there for me.”
With Rosh Hashana just two weeks away, Aleph is hard at work so that incarcerated Yidden can celebrate Yom Tov, no matter where they find themselves. Aleph is shipping 700+ Machzorim, 200+ Lulav and Esrog sets, 70+ Shofars, 2,500+ honey packets, and 7,000+ Jewish calendars to prisons and military bases around the country. Aleph is also coordinating more than 65 of volunteers who will travel in RVs to 30+ far-flung facilities this Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur to spend Yom Tov with incarcerated Yidden.
“For myself and the others, who are separated from family during the holiday, this visit gave us a semblance of normalcy, reminding us that even in the worst of places we are not forgotten,” one man wrote after receiving a visit on Rosh Hashanah, 5784.
This year, you can help a lonely soul in prison feel seen and heard.
This year, you can help a struggling mother cover her bills.
This year, you can help a heartbroken child experience joy and laughter.
This year, you can embrace hope by partnering with Aleph.
