MTA Begins Ticketing People In Bus Lane Using Automatic Cameras, Includes Nostrand and Utica Routes
The MTA will start issuing tickets on Monday to drivers who are blocking and double parking at bus stops. The agency installed new cameras on hundreds of buses along 14 bus routes across New York City, including the B44 SBS and B46 SBS bus routes.
The devices will capture the license plate, location and time stamp when a violation is spotted. Violators will receive a summons of $50. Repeat violators could get fined up to $250.
Two Crown Heights bus routes, the B44 SBS on Nostrand Ave and the B46 SBS on Utica Ave are included in the announcement.
