First Gallery: JEM Foundation’s Gimmel Tamuz Event Showcases Unique Manuscripts

On Gimmel Tammuz, members and supporters of the JEM Foundation gathered to celebrate and support the pioneering work of the JEM Foundation.

Before the main program began, a small group of guests were treated to an exclusive pre-event, showcasing original, handwritten edits made by the Rebbe on different publications.

The four displays included:

1. Jewish Educational Media (JEM). The Rebbe’s handwritten notes to JEM’s founder Rabbi Dovid Krinsky, containing specific responses to JEM’s reports and inquiries.

2. Vaad Hanochos B’Laha”k. The Rebbe’s talks prepared for print in Hebrew, over the course of several decades, under the supervision of Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook, feature extensive edits by the Rebbe.

3. Lubavitch News Services, which published press releases on timely guidance from the Rebbe and news from across the Lubavitch world, written by Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, displayed the Rebbe’s handwritten revisions and edits. Many of the edits shed light on the Rebbe’s approach of the correct way to present ideas.

4. Sichos in English, now led by Rabbi Shmuly Avtzon, features the Rebbe’s original English edits to numerous talks and letters, made under the leadership of its founder, Rabbi Yonah Avtzon.

The manuscripts gave participants a first-hand view of the Rebbe’s guidance and approach to numerous situations, and the nuance and specificity that was important to the Rebbe. Most of all, the pre-event gave them a chance to connect and learn from the Rebbe in a unique way on this special day.
