Annual Father-Son Learning BBQ Fills Grounds of Rabbinical College of America

The sun was shining brightly with a cool breeze in the air – the perfect weather for the annual Father-Son BBQ at the Cheder Lubavitch Morristown. The Berger Auditorium was packed with fathers and sons learning b’chevrusa. There were options available that included a sicha from the Rebbe, ma’amer from the Alter Rebbe and stories from the Frierdiker Rebbe – all material to prepare for the upcoming yomtov, Shavuos. Afterwards, everyone moved outdoors to attend a delicious BBQ picnic on the grounds of the Rabbinical College of America.

At the BBQ, Rabbi Baruch Hecht shared an incredible story and had the entire audience enthralled. Then followed a rally with pesukim lead by Rabbi Mendel Dubov. The pesukim were said and repeated with vigor and all there had the heartfelt prayers for peace in Eretz Yisroel and safety of our soldiers and return of the hostages on their thoughts.

The apex of the afternoon was the lighthearted father-son activities that took place around the outdoor sports facilities conveniently located around the RCA campus. Team Fleishig triumphed over team Milichig in a close game of 6 goals to 5 in the 2,3,4th grade soccer game. While the baseball diamond did get competitive, in a turn of events, the fathers emerged as the proud winners of this year’s baseball game. The day wrapped up with mincha and early dismissal.
