As the family of Shluchim worldwide mourns the passing of Mrs. Sarah Rohr, wife of Yibadlu Lechaim Tovim Reb Shmuel Rohr and mother of Mr. George Rohr, all Shluchim unify in a joint commemorative endeavor.
All Shluchim are invited to partake in a global Chalukas Hashas to be completed during the shloshim period.
Every Shliach is asked to undertake a minimum of one unit (4 Dafim) of his choice. Shluchim who conduct daily or weekly shiurim in Gemara are asked to note the Dafim as part of the Chaluka, as well.
We designed a user friendly online system – on the Rohr sponsored ShluchimExchange – whereby you can select the Dafim of your choice. Reminders will be sent weekly during shloshim.
Follow this link: http://www.shluchimexchange.com/en/masechta-rohr.html and login using your Merkos username and password to partake in the Chalukas Hashas.
On the shloshim (10 Kislev), we will submit a list of all participating Shluchim to the Rohr family.
May the Rohr family find comfort in the tens of thousands of hours of Torah studied in her merit, by the Rebbe’s Shluchim worldwide.
CHer
I live in CH, I’m not a shliach and never received any funding from the Rohr family and don’t know any of the Rohr’s personally, but from friends of mine who are shluchim I’ve come to admire the Rohr’s and the WAY they give tzedakah.
They don’t JUST write checks – though they write A LOT of them and are responsible for a large part of Chabad’s growth over the last few years, especially on campus – they partner with shluchim and become a part of the Shlichus, very much like Yisochar and Zivulun. One friend of mine who received funding from the Rohr Family Foundation once approached George Rohr and thanked him for the funding, George corrected him and said “no, thank you!” – Now that’s called giving!
