Mayor of Cherkasy Grants City Rabbi ‘Distinguished Service’ Award on Purim
In the city of Cherkasy in Ukraine, Purim was celebrated for the third time since the beginning of the crisis, yet despite the circumstances, the community, led by Rabbi Dov Axelrod, marked the day with great joy.
The event, attended by hundreds of Jews, was graced by the presence of Cherkasy Mayor Anatoliy Bondarenko. He praised the activities of the Chabad emissaries in the city and even bestowed upon Rabbi Axelrod, the city’s Chief Rabbi, a distinguished service award for his significant humanitarian and spiritual assistance to the city’s residents.
