Camp L’man Achai West Coast Holds Shabbaton

Camp L’man Achai held a Shabbaton in the beautiful mountains of California. 

Twenty-five campers and staff joined for Shabbos, at the gorgeous 5-acre property, which hosted many activities such as zipline, rope course, a basketball court, a trampoline, and mini farm. 

Most of the boys have already attended camp, while the rest of them experienced Shabbos for the first time, and will be joining L’man Achai for the upcoming summer! 

In preparation for Shabbos they all baked their own Challah early Friday afternoon, followed by lunch and an incredible hike. Once back, everyone geared up for Shabbos. Kabalos Shabbos took place outdoors. Shabbos was enjoyed by exciting Shabbos meals with songs and stories, activities, learning and games, all reminding the campers of the amazing CLA camp spirit. 

At the Melava Malka, everyone got to make their very own pizza. Followed by an engaging bonfire with local Shliach, Rabbi Yigal Rosenberg. “To see the boys, mostly from public schools, getting involved in such vibrant and exciting Judaism, which we don’t usually have in our area, was very inspiring,” said Rabbi Rosenberg.

One parent reached out saying, that after the shabboton experience, her son wants to attend a Jewish High school, something she could never have imagined. 

“Hosting the Camp L’man Achai’s Shabbaton in our home has been an extraordinary experience. The bonds created, memories, and uplifted spirits have enriched our hearts with joy and purpose. We eagerly look forward to the next time our home becomes a place of Kedusha, friendship, learning, and enjoyable moments together,” said our hosts, the Itzikowitz family.
