Speaker of the Knesset Visits Chabad Headquarters
Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana met with Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky at Chabad-Lubavitch World Headquarters on Saturday evening. Joining him were Acting Consul General of Israel Tsach Saar, along with Francine Raubvogel from the Israeli consulate. Also present at the meeting were Rabbi Yosef Freidman, Director of Kehos; Sheine Friedman; Baila Olidort, Chabad’s Director of Communications; Rabbi Yaacov Behrman, PR liaison for Chabad, and Rabbi Yirmy Berkowitz.
During the meeting, Ohana acknowledged Chabad’s significant contributions to world Jewry. He presented Rabbi Krinsky with a gift from the Knesset: a Book of Psalms, which Rabbi Krinsky said he would place in the Rebbe’s library. Ohana addressed Israel’s current challenges, expressing confidence in the nation’s resilience, and mentioned America’s strong support for Israel.
The Knesset Speaker also paid a visit to the Rebbe’s room for a period of prayer, followed by a visit to the Chabad communications room.
He was accompanied by Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Director of Merkos302, who spoke to him about the history and significance of 770, including the Rebbe’s room, Rabbi Chaim Boruch Halberstam, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Eisenbach from Chabad’s communications room, and Rabbi Yaacov Behrman, who coordinated the visit.
