Moscow Smicha Track Graduates Tested on Laws of Chupa and Kidushin

The last few months saw a select group of graduates from Moscow’s “Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim of Sofrino” immersed in their studies of the laws of Chupa and Kidushin. This was in continuation to the successful Smicha learning track whose alumnae already serve as key positions in Jewish communities throughout the FSU.

The students arrived at the offices of the Yeshiva’s founder, namely, the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar shlit”a. There they were extensively tested and made a powerful impression with the breadth and depth of their knowledge in halacha.

Beside the Chief Rabbi sat the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Goldberg, and the yeshiva’s Director of Smicha Studies Rabbi Dovid Rozenzweig. Throughout the year they are fully dedicated to the students, ensuring that they can study Torah peacefully in the Yeshiva’s pastoral campus, far from the city’s hustle and bustle, with all their material and spiritual needs being met.

Upon completion of the exam, and in light of their broad knowledge, the students took upon themselves the Chief Rabbi’s suggestion to publish the various summaries and approaches of the halachos that they learned in a special booklet for the benefit of all.
