Aguch Puts Their Foot Down, “Unauthorized” Sunday Dollars To Stop

by CrownHeights.info

After years of fighting and altercations outside and inside 770 Sunday mornings, Aguch has finally put its foot down announcing that the area directly outside the main 770 doors and Chotzer will be closed through most of Sunday.

“This coming Sunday, January 14, 2024 the front entrance to 770 as well as the courtyard adjacent to 770 will be closed from 10:00am until 5:00pm,” Aguch wrote in a letter. “The upstairs Zal will remain open for studies.”

The letter, while not calling out the actions by name, are hardly vague, explaining that “certain individuals have repeatedly organized unauthorized activities during those times.”

Surprisingly, Aguch goes so far as to make it clear that infractions will be enforced by the law, threatening that any people who break these rules will face arrest and prosecution. This is a big step not seen in many years to regain control of the Chabad landmark.

Am quite against the dollars but threatening arrest is overboard and not a Jewish thing. It will not bring them to be more reasonable. Going overboard causes far more damage and doesn’t stop anything. This is poshut.

Nothing less has any chance of working with the Tzfasim. Look where the downstairs Shul ended up with their policy of appeasement. The theater production where they portray a fake dollars distribution is an embarrassment to the Rebbe and all of Lubavitch.

This is the beginning of an imposing dictatorship of a few people who have been fighting in court and spending millions and I’m not part of any accountability. Why not? We need another war! The news about fighting the Arabs getting stale and the infighting in Israel is old news. So Lubavitch will get things exiciting. especialy fighting in 770 a known landmark. The Palestine protestors will appriciate that

There won’t be fighting if fighters aren’t going to be allowed inside 770 anymore

Accountability means creating consequences. If that group wants to use violence, they should expect facing legal consequences. Anyone advocating anything less is just trying to run cover for the crazies and perpetuate their reign of terror.

Just please @crownheights.info: if there is a fight, please don’t post about it…

It will be the fault of those bochurim. But resulting chilul Hashem will be equally your part.

Just let the matter be taken care of without fermenting antisemitism and anti-Chabad feelings.

Why are we enforcing these things all of a sudden? Why didn’t we do this 10 years ago? Handing out money is not illegal. I’m going to stop donating to Chabad and I will tell all my other friends to stop too.

Probably because they got a lot of phone calls from jews after the tunnel incident “what in the world is going on with chabad? ” Everyone is now paying much more attention to everything that is going on and demanding action

  • It’s about time

Those who are commenting against the actions being taken by Aguch sadly don’t understand what the problem is.
We have sick youth who need to be forced to get help much like people who r”l are addicts etc. We probably can’t have them committed to institutions at this time, but an effort must be made to prevent them from harming themselves and others.

    • Oh knock it off

Taking care of youth now? If anyone older who should know better spent half the effort on opening a dialogue with them instead of fanning the flames, this whole situation would be 90% better. Masering the idealistic ones, who are fools – but don’t deserve arrest, goes against the foundations of Yiddishkeit. All that’s needed is to stop fanning the flames and mesira for the fun of it is beyond.

There should be a Daly rule.
    And after
    February, March, April. 2024.
When the weather gets warmer from April through beginning September all in 2024, 770 main Shul should be closed off from Motzei Shabbos till Friday by 3:15pm by Mincha and move to the Main Sukka for all Dovening. (Raining or not) take practice!
