At A Tefillin Booth, A Mother And Son Bench HaGomel and Discover Who Their Rescuer Was

Manning a Tefillin booth in a shopping mall in Ashdod, Rabbi Michael Taib from Kfar Chabad hears many interesting stories, but one that took place recently was exceptionally unique.

A mother and son who lived in Kfar Aza approached the Tefillin booth requesting put on Tefillin and to Bench HaGomel for the miracle of their rescue from heir home on October 7th.

During the conversation, Rabbi Taib mentioned that two of his sons, Mendel and Zalman, were in fact serving in the IDF and presently in Gaza battling Hamas. Interested, the woman asked to see a photo of the boys and immediately broke down in tears when she saw them.

Mendel, who is a commander in the Rotem Givati Battalion, had been commanding the group of soldiers that rescued her from her home on October 7th.
