BDE: Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Itkin, 69, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Itkin OBM, a legendary Chassid and Shliach in Pittsburgh, PA. He passed away on Monday evening, the 7th of Teves, 5784 following an extended illness.

He was 69 years old.

Living in Pittsburgh all his live, Rabbi Itkin was a legend who taught in the local Lubavitch school and ran the local Vaad Hashgacha.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nechama Itkin, and their children.

The Levaya will be passing by Yeshiva Schools in Pittsburgh at 11:45pm on the way to New York. Levaya in Crown Heights will take place at 770 2:30pm followed by the Kevura in Montefiore Cemetery.

    Rabbi Itkin was a very kind and compassionate man. I studied with him for a short time but he was crucial to my growth as a Jew.
