The X Menorah, Elon Musk’s New 2024 Menorah Design?
by CrownHeights.info
Every Chanukah for the last seven years, Chabad artist Yitzchak Moully has created a new design for a public Menorah. Each year the design gets more ambitious, and for 2024, Moully has a new design already picked out. Welcome the X Menorah.
Was this design created with Elon Musk in mind? No, but maybe it should have been.
The X Menorah is a new generation of Public Art Menorah that breaks all the rules while keeping to Torah Law. Standing 32 feet tall – the maximum allowed by Torah – 20 feet wide and 25 feet deep, the X Menorah fills the public space with strength and power of Jewish pride. Or at least Moully hopes it will.
Starting with art murals, Moully became an artistic sensation in the Jewish world as he blended color and meaning to create some of the most iconic modern Jewish art, including his now viral “Overflowing Cup of Blessings” that has been used by Chabad Houses across the world at events.
He took his Chanukah Menorah art from murals to true Menorahs in 2021 with the creation of a “Human Menorah”, where people stood in place of the Menorah branches to allow the Menorah lights to shine. In 2022, his unique Menorah design could be seen it along a NYC waterway with one of the city’s iconic bridges in the background. 2023 continued the tradition in London, UK, where Moully presided over the lighting of his new design at a public Menorah lighting.
So, 2024 outside X’s headquarters? What do you say Elon Musk?
