Six Shluchim Join Florida Governor For Chanukah Event at the Governor’s Mansion

The Governor and First Lady of the State of Florida Ron, and Casey DeSantis hosted a Chanukah celebration at the Florida Governor’s Mansion. Six Chabad Shluchim were personally invited.

Governor Ron DeSantis spoke about his strong support for the Jewish people in the State of Florida by providing support for private education, security funding, and most recently Florida Highway Patrol protecting of Jewish Institutions. The Governor spoke about his support for Israel, sending planes to evacuate after Oct 7th as well providing planes to bring most needed supplies to Israel. The Governor also spoke about his fight against antisemitism.

Chabad Shliach Rabbi Sholom Lipskar from the Shul of Bal Harbour spoke about the miracle of Chanukah and thanked the Governor for his strong support for the Jewish people and how Florida is the most desirable State to live in.

Rabbi Lipskar as well as three families with direct connection to Israel and the hostages held by Hamas were each honored in lighting the Menorah.

Chanukah Songs were sung and the attendees were treated to a Glatt Kosher buffet dinner with delicious Chanukah latkes and doughnuts.

The six Chabad Shluchim invited were Rabbi Sholom Lipskar, Rabbi Benji Korf, Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz, Rabbi Meir Simcha Minkowicz, Rabbi Tzvi Dechter, and Rabbi Nochum Krinsky, whom thanked Governor Ron DeSantis for his support and took a Picture with the Governor.

Another local Shliach, Rabbi Oirechman, was out of town for his child’s wedding and was unable to attend.
