Record Crowd At SUNY Downstate Menorah Lighting

by CrownHeights.info

A record crowd gathered at SUNY Downstate Thursday night for a public Menorah lighting on the first night of Chanukah.

The large crowd came out in part in support for Chabad of SUNY Downstate and the Shliach Rabbi Yoseph Yitzchok Holzman after an anti-Israel panel was advertised at the University to be taking place at the same time as the lighting.

“In the current political climate, the safety of Jewish students and staff depends on how big and vocal our presence is” Rabbi Holzman said. “This year, more than ever, we need you to help us and every Jewish student in every university.”
