New Revelation: A Maamar from Ksav Yad of the Frierdiker Rebbe
In honor of Yud Tes Kislev, Kehoe’s Otzar Hachassidim releases a Maamar from Yud Daled Kislev 90 years ago, along with a newly discovered letter, both from the handwriting of the Frierdiker Rebbe.
With the approach of Shabbos Yud Tes Kislev, ‘Otzar Hachassidim’ has released a special booklet which includes:
1) A Maamar published for the very first time from the holy handwriting of the Frierdiker Rebbe. The Maamar, “Vayomer Lo Elokim Shimcha Yaakov,” was delivered on Shabbos Vayishlach, Yud Daled Kislev 5694 (1933), exactly ninety years ago. The Maamar was prepared for print—with footnotes and elaborations—by Rabbi Aharon Leib Raskin, and edited by Rabbi Yehoshua Yarmush.
2) A letter published for the very first time from the holy handwriting of the Frierdiker Rebbe, dated to 9 Cheshvan 5686 (1926), addressed to the famed lawyer Mr. Yekusiel Kramer, who was a member of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in the United States and Canada, continuing the work of his father, Reb Moshe Eliezer Kramer, Aguch’s first president who passed away on 6 Iyar 5685 (1925). This letter was prepared for print by Hatomim Chaim Eliezer Twersky.
A special addition to the Kuntres are two images of the handwritten Maamar, one of the first page and another page of edits and additions. Included as well is an image of the letter, which only recently reached the Rebbe’s library, through the efforts of Rabbi Getzel Itzinger of London.
The publication of the booklet and its dissemination is dedicated in honor of the Ninetieth birthday of Rabbi Chaim Yehuda Krinsky, the Rebbe’s decades-long mazkir, whom the Rebbe appointed to chair the central Chabad institutions of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, Machane Israel, and Kehos, as well as the secretary of the international Agudas Chassidei Chabad. The dedication is made by his children.
