Chevra Kadisha Day Reestablished in Russia
The 15th of Kislev was marked in Moscow as “Chevra Kadisha Day” as was reestablished by Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar based on Jewish history in Russia.
After davening and reciting Slichos in the city’s Jewish cemeteries, the members of Chevra Kadisha gathered together in Marina Roscha’s Central Shul for Maariv and a seuda to break their fast.
During the meal lechaims were said and Rabbi Dovid Bloch, Director of the Chevra Kadisha spoke. Rabbi Moshe Tamarin was honored with Birkas Hamazon.
