Miri Ben Ami, Mother of Hamas Hostage Yosef, Spends Time In Crown Heights
The following was published by Rabbi Yaacov Behrman, telling of Miri Ben Ami, whose son has been held hostage in Gaza since October 7th and is currently in Crown Heights.
I just had a heartbreaking meeting with Miri Ben Ami. She is currently staying in Crown Heights. While many are celebrating Thanksgiving, Miri and her family aren’t. Yosef, her son, was kidnapped at the music festival, during the October 7th massacre.
She insists that every hostage needs to come home now & asked me not to focus on her son over others. However his story has hit the Crown Heights community particularly hard. Many know him and his family, and he has deep roots in our community. We must bring them home!
Following news of the massacre, Miri called Yosef’s friend, who was with him at the festival. He told her that he ran to the left while Yosef went to the right, and they both hid under cars. The last he saw of Yosef was when he raised his head, but he hasn’t seen him since.
Subsequently, a video was published on Telegram showing Hamas kidnapping and dragging Yosef out. Currently, he isn’t on the list of hostages to be freed.
During your Thanksgiving dinner today, please take a moment to pray for Yosef and all the hostages.
