Full-Day Kinus Seminar to Tackle Critical Contemporary Halachic Issues
In a noteworthy first, Merkos 302’s Kollel L’Rabbonei Chabad is hosting a full-day Seminar of in-depth Halachic workshops on Thursday, 25 Cheshvan, to equip shluchim with essential knowledge for addressing some of today’s most sensitive and pressing Halachic issues.
The symposium will feature an impressive lineup of veteran Shluchim and Rabbonim, including Rabbi Yona Reiss, Av Beis Din of The Chicago Rabbinical Council, who will headline two of the day’s sessions, as well as Rabbi Boruch Hertz of Chicago, Dayan Levi Raskin of London, Rabbi Sholom Ber Hendel of Morristown, New Jersey, and Rabbi Tuvia Kasimov of Crown Heights, New York.
Billed as The Kinus Halacha Seminar, the program’s four sessions will run from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Beis Levi Yitzchak in Crown Heights, and address several complex questions shluchim inevitably encounter, from the delicate family issues surrounding surrogacy, adoption, and birth control to learning how to properly sell your community’s Chametz.
Over one hundred fifty Shluchim, Mechanchim, and community leaders joined the newly launched Kollel L’Rabbonei Chabad’s in-depth program this year alone, highlighting a growing demand for advanced Halachic know-how. The Kinus Seminar will be another opportunity for Shluchim to broaden their Halachic expertise.
“Many Chabad houses are the primary Jewish infrastructure of their community,” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Chairman of The International Conference of Shluchim and Vice-Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch. “We’re excited to create these opportunities to help shluchim as they guide their communities through these advanced areas of Halacha.”
