Empowering Tomorrow: Inaugural Youth Shluchim Summit Sets the Stage for a Vibrant Jewish Future
The Kinus Hashluchim this year adds a crucial dimension to its conference with its first-ever “Youth Summit.” Featuring tailored workshops and discussions, the summit aims to empower Shluchim in their endeavors to nurture the Jewish identity of the younger generation.
Inspiration, ideas, networking, and farbrengen—the Kinus represents a mosaic of experiences for Shluchim. This year, those focusing on youth initiatives can expect the annual conference to resonate on a whole new level.
The Kinus Office has secured ‘The Arches,’ a spacious event space near Crown Heights, for the first time to feature ‘A Kinus within the Kinus.’ This unique setting will host the workshops, meals, Resource Fair, and networking spaces that comprise the Youth Summit.
In recent months, a committed team has meticulously crafted each facet of the program to ensure it will best support shluchim in furthering their shlichus. With carefully designed networking spaces and a selection of diverse presenters at the Resource Fair, organizers anticipate a significant acceleration in Chabad youth programming globally.
Rabbi Sholom Block from Plano, TX, expresses his enthusiasm: “I’m looking forward to collaborating and exchanging ideas with my fellow youth-focused shluchim.” He is especially eager for the plenary sessions, saying, “שבת אחים גם יחד.”
The workshops, too, promise to be engaging and fruitful. CGI directors will join a roundtable moderated by the indefatigable Rabbi Levi Plotkin of CKids Gan Israel Florida, focusing on strategies for enhancing camper recruitment and financial sustainability.
The presentation by Rabbi Zalman Marcus of Mission Viejo, CA, on a proven method for engaging graduated youth and reducing turnover in programs is sure to attract a crowd.
CTeen’s symposium will showcase five shluchim delivering TED-style talks about innovative growth strategies. Additional essential discussions will cover fundraising, navigating challenging situations, camp hacks, and a conversation about relaying the Rebbe’s perspective on Israel to teens.
“This year, the Kinus will highlight the role of Shluchim fortifying their communities at this pivotal time in history,” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Chairman of the International Conference of Shluchim and Vice-Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch. “The Jewish future is in the spotlight now more than ever; with the Youth Summit, we bring it into focus.”
