Mobile Sukkah in the City of Sydney

With a full four days of Chol HaMoed Sukkos, and the temperature unseasonably hot reaching an average of 35 Celsius, CBDChabad Sydney was undeterred in taking their annual Sukkah Mobile Pilgrimage across the City of Sydney and the surrounding suburbs every day of Chol HaMoed.

Bringing the joy of Sukkos to residents and workers, they provided the opportunity for people to take their lunch break in the sukkah, enjoy a catered lunch each day and to perform the mitzvah of Lulav and Esrog while some made L’Chaim on a truck, in a Sukkah on some of the busiest most public streets of downtown Sydney.

It was also a great educational opportunity for many members of the wider Australian community to engage and learn about Judaism, and the rich heritage that we have and how many of the lessons of Sukkos apply to everyone’s daily lives.
