Amidst the Ruckus; Meaningful Programming for Bochurim
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — The streets of Crown Heights are bursting with action, men women and children from around the world have gathered for “Tishrei in the Rebbe’s Court”.
While sometimes the extra load of people can be burdensome; extra long lines in our local stores, extra pushing and shoving in 770, over flowing usage of the Mikva’s, to name a few. We know that the Rebbe was very supportive of Hachnosas Orchim, and the residents of the Shechuna, as always, have stepped up to the task.

Amidst all this, The Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim – International Committee for Bochurim – have taken upon themselves the task of making the month long stay meaningful and inspirational, for the estimated over 1,500 guest Bochurim. A wide array of programming assures that the Bochurim not only use their time here wisely, but also that they go back home with a greater understanding, in how they can be real Chassidim in today’s trying times.
Following the grand Bruchim Haboim evening held at Campus Chamesh last week, attended by over 600, nightly Shiurim and Farbrengens are organized in the Colel, with personalities such as Rabbis Yoel Kahn, Yosef Weinberg, Michoel Seligson and many more.
Tours of the Rebbe’s Library, Davening in the Rebbe’s house and the Rebbe’s room, and the Friediker Rebbe’s apartment are arranged specially for the guests. Daily busses to the Ohel are subsidized as an added convenience.
All these programs leave the Bochur invigorated, with a real Tishrei experience. A highlight event was the major Vov-Tishrei Farbrengen last night, where many hundreds spent the night listening to the Rebbe’s choizer, ‘Reb Yoel’ with bated breath.
“One of this years additions was Rabbi Mendel Groner as guest Mashpiah from Israel, who gave Shiurim and Farbrenged with the Bochurim” said Yitzy Steiner, coordinator of Tishrei programming in the Vaad. “Rabbi Groner gave the Bochurim a sense of direction and encouraged them to utilize their time while here”.
He continued with a brocho “Let us hope that Moshiach comes immediately and we spend the rest of Tishrei with the Rebbe bigashmiyus as in the sweet days we all remember so fondly”.

I think you should be more caeful witj your wording. How can you call TISHREI BURDENSOME!!!!
It is the highlight of the year and the exessive Orchim always gave the Rebbe much Nachas.
Perhaps you can rephrase the sentence?
Yo Censorship, don-t delude yourself
It is the highlight of the year.
It does give the Rebbe nachas.
and it IS burdensome.
Rosey
I think its how you look at it.
I personally enjoy seeing these bocherim
walking the streets, singing ningunim with chayos and no reservations. Its uplifting and it adds well needed chayos to the Schechuna everything considered.
Kol Hakavod and keep it up Orchim.
And for years I had these orchim in my home; it was always a pleasure. It made
my whole Tishre much more labadik.
Having Orchim is a zechus which one chooses to do or not to do.

Question
Why do pepole only comment when the article is about a problem, and not on an article like this one which is highlighting something so nice going on in CH?
RE: ROSEY
100% on target!!!
You can choose to be part of it
or to stay apart!
I’m sure the Rebbe wants us to be apart of it.
BrookAve
Yes, it is the most electric time of the new year! Pizza places rolling out extra dough for the masses. Kol Tuv always open. The ice cream man getting extra freezer for his mint chip and mocha fudge. Ahh the ice cream shoppe, where all of our Holy youth congregate. When are the U Haul trucks with the dozens of Israeli girls arriving? Getting extra bedding and pillows ready.
