CKids Gan Israel Wisconsin Celebrated Successful Conclusion of Boys’ Session
CKids Gan Israel Wisconsin, a pioneering Jewish summer camp catering to Hebrew school students, proudly wraps up its two-week boys’ session, marking the successful completion of its second year. The camp, which has impressively doubled in size since last year, provided an immersive and unforgettable Jewish summer experience for Jewish boys in the Midwest and will begin its girls program this week.
Nestled in new grounds boasting modern facilities, CKids Gan Israel Wisconsin created an exceptional environment for campers from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. With ten days spent within the camp and an additional five on the road, this year’s program aimed to strike a perfect balance between fun-filled activities and meaningful Jewish education.
Situated on the picturesque lakefront, campers were treated to a wide range of exhilarating activities, including inflatable water sports, on-site paintball, and archery. One of the highlights of the program was the opportunity for campers to forge new friendships. Throughout their two-week journey, the boys formed strong bonds, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and support. These connections will undoubtedly continue to grow even after the conclusion of the camp, creating lifelong friendships.
As a grand finale to the boys’ session, a five-day trip to Minnesota was organized. The excursion included visits to an amusement park, a trampoline park, and an exhilarating white-water rafting adventure. In addition, the campers had the privilege of spending Shabbos at the Lubavitch House in Minneapolis, where they had the opportunity to hear from Rabbi Moshe Feller, Head Shliach to Minnesota.
“We are thrilled with the tremendous success of CKids Gan Israel Wisconsin’s boys’ session,” said camp director Rabbi Avremi Schapiro. “Our focus on providing a fun-filled experience intertwined with meaningful Jewish experience has truly resonated with the campers. We are delighted to have witnessed the growth of friendships and the lasting impact this camp has had on each participant.”
CKids Gan Israel Wisconsin is part of the growing international Network of CKids Gan Israel Camps, continuously striving to create a fun and engaging Jewish environment for children who may not be familiar with many aspects of Yiddishkeit. The organization aims to launch ten such camps worldwide by 2030. “It’s important for Jewish kids today to spend time with their peers, empowering them with the knowledge that they aren’t alone,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, executive director of Merkos 302, “the power of summer camp to help Jewish children build confidence in their Jewish identity is incomparable.”
