A Trumpet From Hashem Convinces World Class Band Member To Be Shomer Shabbos

The following touching and inspirational post was written by Rivky Wilansky regarding a famous band player who decided to stop touring so he could be Shomer Shabbos.

Mike Bogart @ironmikebogart is an incredibly talented trumpet player who just made a big move and decided to quit touring with the “Tower of Power” band that he loved, so that he could be fully Shabbos observant!

He wrote to the Rebbe about his decision at the Ohel this Gimmel Tammuz, 5783, and asked for strength in keeping it…

When he came out of the Ohel, he happened to look down, and immediately saw an amazing sign of Divine Providence which gave him the strength that he had just asked the Rebbe for – a picture of a gold trumpet right on the ground below him!!

Our family got ‘extra’ excited when we saw this story that Rabbi Shais Taub shared, because we immediately recognised that trumpet!

It was the cover of the wedding invitation of my sister in law Leah Wilansky, & her groom Aryeh Dov Eidelman, who just got married this past Monday, 29 Sivan, June 19th!

They chose to make their wedding monogram in the form of a trumpet, in honor of the year of Hakhel, when the Jewish priests would go out and blow gold trumpets to remind all the Jews to gather together at the Holy Temple.

They put their invitations on the tombstones of their grandparents and great grandparents who have already passed on, including on the tombstone of Rabbi Tzvi Meir Steinmetz, the bride’s great grandfather, who is buried very close to the Rebbe’s Ohel.

They put it there on Sunday, and by Thursday, Hashem had sent the wind to blow it exactly in this special trumpet player’s path!

It is such an incredibly humbling experience for the young couple to know that they were privileged to be the Rebbe’s channel to provide strength and encouragement to a fellow Jew in his brave decision to have self sacrifice for Shabbat observance!

It’s amazing to realise that we are all just “instruments” in G-d’s hands, getting to play a part in His wondrous Divine Providence!

And it’s incredible to once again see how even 29 years after Gimmel Tammuz, the Rebbe continues to find a way to answer each and every Jew who turns to him!

To continue to uplift and support and help and inspire each and every one us, one by one, in our efforts to fulfill our Gdly missions on this earth!

And I pray, that in the merit of this incredible Jewish trumpet player’s complete loyalty to Gd, may he immediately get to blow his gold trumpet in front of the biggest crowd ever, to announce the grand Hakhel in the 3rd Holy Temple in Jerusalem, with the Rebbe at our lead!!
