Rabbi Marvin Hier’s Answer to Antisemitism? All Hands on Deck and Yad Menachem
Rabbi Marvin Hier has dedicated his life to fighting antisemitism. As the founder of the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, and having represented the Jewish world before presidents, and world religious leaders, he certainly knows a thing or two about combating antisemitism and dealing with assimilation.
Recently Rabbi Avrohom Wagshul of Yad Menachem, an organization in Los Angeles that works to transfer Jewish children out of public school and has so far helped 117 children get placed in one of 23 Jewish schools, heard that Rabbi Hier himself was saved from having to attend a public school and had a heartwarming story to tell about it. He approached Rabbi Hier to share his amazing story in support of Yad Menachem’s fundraiser aiming to raise funds to fund the 117 current transfers out of public school, and hopefully double that number this year.
Rabbi Hier graciously told his story and included his advice for dealing with antisemitism and assimilation today. “We need all hands on deck!” said Rabbi Hier, “we have to keep every yid in our community and can’t afford to lose even one. This is why in Rabbi Hier’s words; “Yad Menachem is saving lives every day!” Enjoy this video of Rabbi Hier’s story.
