BDE: Rabbi Meir Yehuda Yisroel Harlig, 86, OBM
With great sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Meir Yehuda Yisroel Harlig OBM, one of the Gabboim of 770 who served for many years. He passed away on Sunday, the 29th of Sivan, 5783.
He was 86 years old.
Rabbi Harlig was perhaps best known as the Gabbai responsible for the Rebbe’s Arba Minim which were used by thousands of Chassidim each Sukkos.
During the later years Rabbi Harlig also took on responsibilities as a Gabbai in the main 770 Shul as well as the Rebbe’s room in 770.
He is survived by his wife Tzipporah, and children; Rabbi Shea Harlig (Las Vegas, NV), Rabbi Yossi Harlig (Kendell, FL), Mrs. Chaya Sarah Dalfin (Miami, FL), Rabbi Sholom Harlig (Rancho Cucamonga, CA), Rabbi Mendy Harlig (Henderson, NV), Mrs. Toby Baron (Sunny Isles, FL), and Mrs. Bini Holtzberg (Los Angles, CA).
