In the 13-15 year old category for the U.K, North Regional BMX Racer Championship, Lubavitcher Sterna Kaye was an unlikely competitor for multiple reasons, least of all that she dresses Tznius.

“If coming in first place in her catagory (13-15yo) for her first major competition in the U.K, North Regional BMX Racer Championship wasn’t inspiring enough,” Rabbi Danny Yaffe wrote about his niece Sterna on social media, “Sterna stuck to her principles and beliefs by maintaining a modest dress code that orthodox Jewish women choose to adhere to, in a sport where wearing a skirt isn’t particularly conducive!”

Sterna’s ride to the overall bronze came on the heels of a spectacular 1st place win on Race F7, where she beat out her competitors in the novice level for first place.

“A true role model indeed,” Yaffe noted. “Kol HaKovod and may you reach expert level!!”
