Revisiting The Start of His Jewish Journey 30 Years Later

by JewishMiami.info

Dr. Moshe (Rabi) Rosenfeld and his wife Galit of Blessed Memory along with their children were from the first people to join Chabad of Southwest Florida’s activities when the Chabad center opened 30 years ago. Moshe with two other Israeli friends Jerry and Meir would learn Tanya with the Chabad Shliach, Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz, on a weekly basis. Moshe would join for Shabbos and Yom Tov prayers as well as the Friday night meals along with his family.

A year later Moshe packed up his family and left for New Jersey to step in to a new Job offering. Rabbi Minkowicz lost contact with the family, and for 30 years heard nothing from them.

On Monday night, Rabbi Minkowicz suddenly received a call from Moshe. “He said he’s in Florida and wants to visit his old home, medical offices where he practiced,” Rabbi Monkowics told JewishMiami.info. “And of course the Chabad where he started his journey of observant Judaism.”

Moshe showed up at Chabad and was very impressed with the huge growth of Chabad. He shared with everyone that he has over the years became fully observant with his whole family, including his three children, who are all married. All these years later he has been blessed with 10 grandchildren.

Unfortunately, three years ago, his wife Galit passed away.

“His greatest memories that impacted his journey was learning Tanya,” Rabbi Minkowics noted. “And the lavish festive Friday night dinners at the Rabbis house.”
