Lubavitch Glasgow Holds Their 54th Annual Dinner Last Month

After three challenging years of Covid Lubavitch in Glasgow had an unbelievable busy Purim programme.
This included a Megilah reading together with Shul in the Park followed by a hot reception on Monday night attended by 50 fifty people.

Tuesday morning prayers at Shul in the Park were attended by 30 people followed by a breakfast.

Throughout the day megilah readings were held in private homes and Purim gifts were distributed to over 300 people around the community.

Early Tuesday evening the 54th anniversary Lubavitch Purim dinner was held attended by 140 people aged three to ninety years. The atmosphere throughout the evening was ‘electric’.

Guests enjoyed a fabulous meal catered by L’Chaim’s and entertainment was provided by the Taste of Honey Trio who flew in specially from Israel and London.

Stars of the show were Sholom Jacobs and famous singer Amitai Baer and of course Yossi & Iris Attias together with John McGinley on the guitar. The crowd was once again so receptive to listen to the wonderful Taste of Honey showband who have been joining many Lubavitch events since there inception in the mid 80s.

Guest speaker for the evening was Sora who explained about here celebrating her miraculous recovery by sponsoring a ‘Special Thanksgiving Buffet’ to celebrate her heavenly recovery.

Vote of thanks for the evening was given by senior community member Monty Cowen who concluded by offering ‘birchas Cohanim’ to the assembled.

The event was sponsored by Sholom and Pessy Jacobs otherwise it would have not been possible to put on such a wonderful event.
