Wisconsin Leadership Teens Makes Trip to State Capital
It was a pretty amazing week Wisconsin, with the Wisconsin teen leaders of the Friendship Circle visiting the State Capital and meeting the Lieutenant Governor.
The Friendship Circle of Wisconsin’s teen leadership board took a trip to the State Capitol, where they hosted a panel with legislators for a Q&A before meeting with Lieutenant Governor of the State of Wisconsin Sara Rodriguez. There they had a chance to ask questions about culture and politics in Wisconsin, and share some of the issues most important to them.
The Friendship Circle also hosted a round table discussion with the Evers Administration spotlighting solutions for workforce and mental health challenges.
Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) Secretary Kathy Blumenfeld, Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary-designee Amy Pechacek, and Department of Health Services (DHS) Assistant Deputy Secretary Sarah Valencia joined the Friendship Circle of Wisconsin roundtable discussion, centering their discussion removing employment barriers for individuals with disabilities and promoting critical mental health trainings for Wisconsinites.
“The secretaries met with Friendship Circle Executive Director Levi Stein, staff, board members, and area stakeholders for a robust discussion that highlighted Friendship Circle programs as well initiatives from Gov. Tony Evers to address the state’s workforce needs and expand access to mental and behavioral health services,” they wrote in a press release.
