Innovative Initiative Encourages Students of Tomchei Tmimim Ocean Parkway to Connect Before Yud Shevat

As we prepare to mark 73 years since the histalkus of the Frierdiker Rebbe and the beginning of the Rebbe’s nesius, educators at Tomchei Tmimim Ocean Parkway have come up with a unique mivtza, one that will help students visualize and internalize what it means to be connected to the Rebbe.

Titled, “Uncovering my Connection with the Rebbe,” the initiative encourages each student to interview a friend, relative or neighbor who met the Rebbe. “What did the Rebbe mean to you when you were my age?” students will ask. “Can you tell me what emotions you felt when you stood in front of the Rebbe?”

The goal of the project is to deepen the students’ hiskashrus — their connection with the Rebbe — by enabling them to hear firsthand what it meant to be with the Rebbe at farbrengens, by Dollars, during tefillos, and so much more.

“At Tomchei Tmimim Ocean Parkway, our focus is to imbue authentic chinuch in an atmosphere of positive growth so that every student that we are privileged to educate can succeed,” said principal Rabbi Menachem Lifshitz. “In keeping with the spirit of Tomchei Temimim, we are proud to partner with the parents of our precious talmidim to raise the next generation of neiros le’hoir — luminaries that will illuminate others.”
