MEQUON, WI [CHI] — This past Sunday a beautiful Siyum Sefer Torah Celebration took place at the Chabad Peltz Center for Jewish Life Mequon, Wisconsin. Over 200 filled the Agudas Achim Chabad Shul to participate in this historic event.
The Torah was donated by Dr. Dovid Chaim Maiman in memory of his mother, Baiyla (Belle) bas Mordechai Volf who passed away last year.

The event began with friends and members of the community who were given the opportunity to have a letter written for them as they assisted the Sofer, Rabbi Moshe Klein with the writing of the letters.
The program began with Dr. Maiman, his son’s in law and his family filling in the last letters in the Torah. After Dr. Maiman filled in the last letter in the Torah he made a heartfelt Shehechyanu with the crowd answer ‘amen’ in unison.
Family members were honored with Hagbah, Gelilah putting on the Yad [hand] and the Kesser [crown]. The Torah was then taken under Chupah in the procession along Crown Court, the street in front of the Shul, where many had the opportunity to carry the Sefer Torah. The community marched along as the band accompanied the procession. As the Procession came back to the Shul, all of the other Sifrei Torah came out to welcome the new Sefer Torah, and the new Torah was carried into the building between two rows of Torahs.
Every member of the community was honored with the opportunity to participate in the Hakofos and dancing along with the live band. After all he Torahs were returned to the Aron Hakodesh, there was beautiful buffet Seudas Mitzvah along with drinks and desserts.
