More than 1200 Light up the Night in Queens
It might have been cold outside, yet more than 1200 people came out to join the first and largest Menorah lighting in Queens. Organized by Shluchim to Fresh Meadows and Jamaica Estates, Rabbi Shmuel & Shevy Kogan in collaboration with the entire team of Shluchim from Ohr Avner Chabad, Rabbis Zalman Zvulonov, Yitzchok Wolowik, Shmuel Kogan, Asher Vaknin & newly appointed Dovid Sousan.
All those that attended commented that the cold didn’t interfere with the high energy and uplifting spirit. The crowd was entertained by the energetic singing sensations Uri Davidi and Avi Benjamin. Children and adults could be seen jumping out of excitement. All participants were engaged with a unique Chanukah game with some coming home with very large prizes.
The event was coordinated in conjunction with all the local shuls and children from each organization came up to say one of the 12 Psukim. Special thanks to Simcha Sommer, Ariel Shimunov, Jacob Hershkowitz and Hatamim Avrohom Asher Kogan for hours of time and dedication in making this massive Kiddush Hashem and Kiddush Shem Chabad.
Happy Chanuka! Enjoy the high energy and spirit of the community Chanukah Celebration in Cunningham Park.
