Rabbi Menachem Raitport, a former Crown Heights businessman and Lubavitcher Chossid recently won an endorsement in the race for the 9th Congressional District seat from Rabbi Shea Hecht, the Chairman of the NCFJE.

“I reach out to our community to say that we have an opportunity that we did not have in the past, and that is to vote for someone who understands our values, understands our needs, and will fight for us in congress,” Rabbi Shea Hecht wrote. “Please go out and vote on November 8th, 2022, and vote for Menachem Raitport on the conservative line for Congress for the 9th congressional District.”

New York’s 9th Congressional district, a recently redrawn district that includes the entire Crown Heights, Flatbush, and much of Boro Park, hold a large Jewish presence, giving Raitport a strong boost in support.

Raitport’s previous campaigns found significant success, with him snagging over 70,000 votes in his 2021 run for public office. In another election in 2010, Raitport garnered a solid 20% of the district’s vote, which in New York City, a Democratic stronghold, is considered significant.

In a recent interview with the Jewish Press, Raitport outlined his goals if he gets into office.
