TRAGEDY: Young Lubavitch Boy Struck and Killed By Cement Truck in Israel

Tragedy has struck the Chabad community Wednesday with the news that a 10-year-old Lubavitch boy was struck and killed by a cement truck in Yerushalayim.

10-year-old Yoel Dovid Lanao OBM had been walking near the Schneller apartment complex in Geulah when he was struck by the truck. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but were unable to revive him.

“Unfortunately, they had to pronounce him dead at the scene due to the nature of the severe injuries he suffered,” said Yakir Shachar.

Yoel had just recently emigrated to Israel from Ukrain, where his parents Rabbi Daniel and Nechama Lanao has seved as Shluchim in Kiev.

The Levaya will take place tponight in Eretz Yisroel, and the Kevura will be in the Chabad Chelek of Har Hazeisim.
