Chabad Lubavitch of Fort Lauderdale, Flies Into New York to Visit the Ohel and 770

In preparation of Rosh Hashanah, members of Chabad Lubavitch of Fort Lauderdale, flew into New York to visit the Ohel and 770 for the day.

Thirty two community members joined their shluchim, Rabbi Moishe Meir and Penina Lipszyc and Rabbi Mendel and Gitty Fayershteyn for a special uplifting experience on Chai Elul.

Upon arriving to the Ohel they where addressed by Rabbi Moishe Meir in preparation to writing a pan and entering the Ohel. For most, this was a first time experience. For all it was an emotional, spiritual connection of prayer and love for the Rebbe. The group continued on to Crown Heights where they had an opportunity to experience what it was like to listen to a Farbengen before the days of modern technology. WLCC was an eye opener. The group continued on to the Rebbe’s library to view the many ancient and valuable manuscripts of our holy Rebbeim.

From the library they continued to the Rebbe’s holy room where they had a few moments to connect and daven.

As par of the course, the group continued down Kingston Avenue to experience the hustle and bustle of a modern day shtetel.

Before concluding their day they were treated to a scrumptious meal from Beouf and Bun at the home of Rabbi Levi and Leah Baumgarten, shluchim of the Rebbe.

Rabbi Mendel made the group aware of how appropriate this trip was, as it is the 32nd anniversary of opening Chabad of Greater Ft. Lauderdale, with 32 members commemorating this special occasion.

On the flight back to Fort Lauderdale that evening, a member said that this was a most amazing and memorable experience and that there is no better way to get ready for the Hight Holidays.

The group is looking forward to the next trip.
