Chabad Couple Comes To Fort Lauderdale To Inspire Teens

Mendel and Gitty Fayershteyn are Fort Lauderdale’s newest Jewish inspiration.

Having arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the end of 2021, they now run a CTeen program with their 11 week old daughter Baila.

Mendel, born in Brooklyn, has dedicated his life to helping others, leading public Passover seders in CA and Germany as well as volunteering at summer camps across America and Israel along with his work at a school in California’s Valley.

Gitty was born into community outreach with her parents, helping them launch different Chabad initiatives in Fort Lauderdale. Before getting married, she worked at Chabad Rancho Mirage’s Cteen. Here, she learned essential skills to create her own CTeen chapter back home.

Fort Lauderdale, known as the “Venice of America” because of its beautiful canals and waterways, has extra bragging rights from the city’s efforts to cultivate a water-lover’s lifestyle that you can enjoy year-round under the sun. It’s attraction has brought many Jewish families to the area.

Mendel and Gitty see the need for current and stimulating programs for Jewish teens who are thirsty for knowledge and community.
