Trump Backed Primary Win Puts Jewish Woman on Connecticut Ballot

Leora Levy was a long shot candidate in the recent Republican primaries, but with the backing of former President Donald Trump, she is now a Jewish candidate for a Republican ticket.

Levy defeated her primary challengers, included the Republican Party endorsed candidate Themis Klarides, to set up for the general election against incumbent Senator Richard Blumenthal.

Beyond just her Jewish ancestry, Leora is also the sister of the Shlucha at the University of Pittsburgh, Rebbetzin Sara Weinstein.

Heading into a challenging election that looks to flip a Senate seat held by Democrats for 30 years, Leora plans to visit the Rebbe’s Ohel in Cambria Heights, Queens, accompanied by her sister Sara Weinstein.
