Pure Simcha In Mullumbimby As The Jewish Community Welcomes New Sefer Torah

Pure Simcha!

That was the feeling in Mullumbimby New South Wales, Australia yesterday, as a new Torah scroll was completed and welcomed into the local Chabad center.

Chabad Byron shire would like to thank all of you who came to celebrate with us, last Sunday’s new Torah dedication.

The new Torah was generously donated by the Abraham family, in loving memory of Herzlia Hadasa Abraham OBM.

“As an independent Chabad house and Shluchim of the Rebbe, Rabbi Tomer and Inbar Rachel appreciate the attendance of some of Melbourne Anash and Chabad of RARA who came to join us in our community’s simcha,” the Ben Harosh’s wrote. “We are looking forward to continue to grow our shlicus project by reaching out to all Jews in our region and to bring about the coming of Moshiach Tzidkeinu speedingly in our days.”

Rabbi Menachem Aron of Chabad of RARA flew in to attend the joyous occasion, together with other guests from Melbourne.

“It was incredible to visit the vibrant Jewish community there that is led by Rabbi Tomer and Inbar Ben-Harosh,” Chabad of RARA wrote on Social Media. “In the few years since they have arrived in Mullumbimby with their family, they have managed to connect with so many people of all ages and demographics.”

The Torah scroll contains thousands and thousands of letter, 304,805 to be exact, that are handwritten by a special scribe. Only when every last letter has been written is the Torah scroll fit for use. Even just one letter missing renders the entire Torah unfit for use in a service.

Many a time a lesson has been drawn from this – every individual is like another letter in the Torah. And every person has something to contribute in their own special way.

“Be sure that you contribute something substantial to the world today,” Chabad of RARA wrote.
