New Shluchim To Provide For The Jews of Salzburg in Austria

by CrownHeights.info

The City of Salzburg is a beautiful Austrian tourist city just over the border with Germany. Known as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, it will soon be complete with a Chabad House and dedicated Shluchim.

Rabbi Menachem and Chanie Gruzman are looking to illuminate Salzburg with a Chabad House that will serve the Jewish community of Salzburg as well as the many tourists that visit the city.

Salzburg’s Jewish history goes back as far as the Roman Era when it was still called Juvavum and the first Jewish settlers moved to the area. By 1492, Jews of Salzburg were publicly burned and Jewish settlers expelled from the city. The city later regained its Jewish population, which was again decimated by the Holocaust.
