The Iconic Main Door of 770 Temporarily Replaced For Restoration

by CrownHeights.info

The iconic wood door that fronts the 770 building was removed from its hinges Wednesday as it heads to a woodshop for restoration.

Worn down by hundreds of thousand of hands, the door had begun showing its age and it was time for it to be restored.

The restoration began Wednesday as it was removed from the doorframe and replaced with a temporary door. The temerity door, which lacks windows, will only remain there for a few days until the restoration is complete.

The work is being done under the auspices of the upstairs 770 caretaker Rabbi Chaim Boruch Halberstam with the help of Rabbi Yossi Rabkin.
