Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky Visits Chabad Berlin for the First Time
On Tuesday, June 28, 2022/29 Sivan 5782, the Rebbe’s longtime secretary Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky traveled to Berlin for the first time. As chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of the Chabad movement, he met with Chabad Berlin Chairman Rabbi Yehuda Teichtal and visited with him the institutions that the latter, with his wife Rebbetzin Leah Teichtal, have established in Berlin over the past 25 years: The Jewish Traditional School and Kindergarten, the construction site of the Jewish Campus, which will open next year as the largest Jewish institution in Germany, and of course the Central Chabad Synagogue.
“This is something that the Rebbe would enjoy and promote and encourage” said Rabbi Krinsky after the tour of Jewish life in Berlin, which is growing and thriving according to Rebbe’s teachings.
In the evening Rabbi Krinsky went to the wedding of a couple of students who had fled from Odessa. They met at the Jewish University under the guidance of Rabbi Avraham Wolff, Rabbi of Odessa. In Berlin, together with 500 other refugees, they found refuge and a new home hosted by Chabad Berlin. Despite the unfortunate circumstances of their flight and the war in their homeland, the couple found a happy ending. Rabbi Teichtal, who officiated the wedding ceremony, said one could not imagine a more beautiful wedding for the two.
